Far too many accidents and mishaps in military operations while conducting night movements are the result of poor lighting. While chemical light sticks provide illumination, they are short-lived and require daily replacement, resulting in excess production of waste. Chemical light sticks, being limited to a small, round cylinder, have limitions to where and how they can be used.
